[Ben William Leeson moved to Quatsino Sound in about 1894,  where he ran a store with his father (J. L. Leeson & Son).  Leeson is particularly noted for his portraits of brooding Indian figures, and was fascinated by "flat-headed" Kwakiutl women.]
