Housed in 1" decorative wooden frame painted beige. Frame measures 17" X 20.5" (43 X 52 cm). Beige matting with navy linear border around image. Some wear and chipping to frame. Signed in pencil on the matting to the bottom right of the image. Title on matting at bottom left of image, also in pencil. Image is crisp with detailed hand colouring in a variety of tones. A very nice photograph.

 

Image shows, at the bottom, water and shrubs in the marshland at the feet of the mountains. Behind this rises the peaks of the three sisters. The photograph shows lush greenery with snow at the top of the peaks and blue sky beyond.

 

The Three Sisters are a trio of peaks near Canmore, Alberta, Canada. They are known individually as Big Sister (Faith), Middle Sister (Charity) and Little Sister (Hope).

George Noble, 1879-1965, was a professional photographer at Banff, Alberta, Canada. Noble came to Banff in 1909 to operate a photographic business for his uncles, George and Bill Fear. In 1919, Noble bought the photographic business. This is one of his many scenic images.
