[Original Hand-Coloured Photograph]. Banff, Alberta: , [circa 1945]. Near fine. Original hand coloured photograph. 13.25" X 7.75" (33.6 X 19.6 CM) in original thin gilt and navy mottled wooden frame measuring 15" X 9.5" (38 X 24 cm). One small spot where some of the paint from the hand colouring is visible on the glass. A nice image.

 

Photograph showing Bow Falls, just beneath the Banff Spring Hotel in winter (snow is visible on the ground). Steps/walkway visible to the side of the falls. George Noble, 1879-1965, was a professional photographer at Banff, Alberta, Canada. Noble came to Banff in 1909 to operate a photographic business for his uncles, George and Bill Fear. In 1919, Noble bought the photographic business.
